Our aim is to increase your capacity to tour. We work in partnership with you to achieve this and to best understand your needs.
Arts on Tour works with NSW-based producers across the sector and across genres – from independent artists and creative producers to performing arts organisations large and small. We work with companies with years of touring experience and those with none at all. For more general information about Arts on Tour, visit What we do.
Our aim is to work in partnership with producers to increase your capacity to tour. For emerging tourers, when the focus is on market development, this means being your trusty advisor, navigator and relationship-broker. For more seasoned and regular tourers, it means lightening the load by becoming your external touring department and being your strategic partner, thinking long-term about your touring goals. Irrespective of the stage, our approach is to lead from behind: we’ll provide the expertise to enable you to be out front, building and maintaining relationships with presenters and getting to know your audiences.
We work with metropolitan-based and regional producers on both ‘large-scale’ work for mainstage venues that is usually funding dependent through Playing Australia/state-based touring funds, and ‘small-scale’ work for alternative or studio venues, which may be supported by AOT’s CPTG grant and/or be purchased directly by the presenter.

Tour delivery services
Arts on Tour is a fee for service organisation. For some producers we may only provide 1 or 2 of the services above and for others we provide a full service, with fees adjusted accordingly. These fees are heavily subsidised through the Arts NSW funding we receive and can vary for producers according to Arts NSW and Arts on Tour’s strategic priorities. We work with producers to minimise the impact of these fees on the producer’s ability to undertake touring projects - ultimately, we all want to get the show on the road.
