SALON is an initiative to build relationships between NSW artists/producers and presenters, regional and metro: a small-scale, lo-fi conversation starter without the bells and whistles of a full-blown showcase.
NSW artists, producers and presenters, regional and metro, have identified a lack of opportunities for connecting and building relationships across the state, and Arts on Tour is working on ways to address this.
SALON is a platform for Pecha Kucha-style pitches from artists and producers to facilitate connections with NAPACA members and community venues around work.
In 2019 we have two SALONS. The first was held in Sydney on Wednesday 19 June 2019 and the second is in Tamworth as a prelude to Artstate on Thursday 31 October 2019.
Selected artists/producers presented pitches of up to 5 minutes each. These pitches may be tour ready work, works in development and ideas looking for partnerships.
Selected presenters pitch their organisation: their programming aspirations and approaches, their audiences, capacity and partnership opportunities
Pitches were from all genres of the performing arts and from productions looking to tour to both metro and regional venues, large and small in 2020 and beyond.
HOW DO I GET INVOLVED?
