The Greening of Grace by William Zappa
By Wildie Creative Enterprises Pty Limited
Synopsis
‘The Greening of Grace’ is a new work from the pen of William Zappa (Winter’s Discontent) about the transformation of an elderly woman, following a life-changing event.
Brutally attacked in her own home, Grace has a choice. She can become a victim or she can fight to regain her dignity and reclaim her power. Distressed after learning about the shrinking of the glaciers due to global warming, she finds, through her grandson, Tim, an outlet for her newfound energy - as an eco-warrior. Determined to make a difference, Grace organizes a local environmental group to discuss how at a personal level each individual can be an agent for change in the world.
By taking back her life and refusing to retreat into victimhood; resisting her daughter’s attempts to control and protect her, and realizing that she can make a difference to the world, Grace shows us that we have the ability to stand up and take action for what we believe to be right.
Grace is a role model for our time. She demonstrates that our response to events is a matter of choice. We can choose to be victims or we can choose to be activists.
